| The National Federation of Licensed Practical
Nurses, Inc., Board of Directors voted to begin a recognition
program for PN students who achieve a 3.0 or B average in
their course work with program faculty recommendation.
Nichole Eglian LPN is the founder of the NFLPN Student
Honor Society. The recognition will include a special certificate
to be forwarded from the NFLPN Central Office in Garner,
North Carolina and a listing in the "Honor Society
Achievement Award" section in the quarterly publication.
An attractive lapel pin will be included with the certificate.
Student membership in the NFLPN is required in order for
students to receive these awards.
In addition to recognizing the students who achieve this
level, the Practical Nurse Educator will also receive a
certificate of recognition and her/his name will be listed
in the NFLPN publication along with the students name,
school, city/state.
We will need your help! Please forward to the NFLPN offices,
to address and fax listed on this letterhead, a list of
your 3.0 and B achievers, following completion of their
second semester. You may then present their award during
graduation or other appropriate time of your choice.
As you are aware, membership in the professional association
representing your chosen profession is a great value and
an excellent way to continue to keep informed about nursing
information and health care issues. Thank you for encouraging
your students to become involved by belonging to their
professional association! A membership application is enclosed
with this mailing, and both you and your students may join
NFLPN today.
NFLPN offers two certification programs for LPN/LVNs in
IV Therapy and Gerontology. Keith Brown with Educational
Resources, Inc., is the administrator of these programs
and may be reached at 1-800-292-2273 for further information.
Please take a moment to share this information with your
PN students, and call our national office at (919) 779-0046
or e-mail cbarbour@mgmt4u.com with questions.
Cordially,

Irene Bruns, LPN
